Copper Queen Community Hospital (CQCH) is proud to announce its recent accreditation by DNV, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to patient safety and quality care. This achievement confirms that CQCH meets or exceeds the rigorous Conditions of Participation set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
What sets this accreditation apart is DNV’s integration of the internationally recognized ISO 9001 Quality Management System with CMS standards—making CQCH part of a select group of hospitals embracing this forward-thinking approach and the only critical access hospital in the state to receive this accreditation.
“This accreditation reflects our long-standing dedication to excellence in healthcare,” said Quality & Patient Safety Officer, Joe Deeter, MHA, MS, BSN, RN, CPHRM, CPPS, DNV-CHIPP. “Integrating ISO 9001 into our clinical and financial processes is a major step forward in enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency.”
As part of the DNV program, known as NIAHO® (Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), CQCH will undergo annual hospital surveys rather than the traditional three-year cycle. This continuous review process encourages transparency across departments and fosters ongoing improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.
CQCH now has three years to achieve full compliance with ISO 9001, a globally trusted standard used by performance-driven organizations to advance quality and sustainability goals.
